Our system should be shipping out soon. After reading the rave in Audioholics about this system, my "is it REALLY this good ?" radar started going into gear.

It will have one thorough exam - and I cannot wait for the November GTG - except the fact it means we are starting another winter TOO soon. The Paradigms, Energies, and Ref 3's are still here...

Anyway, When I ordered the system last month, I asked Amie to make sure it was after August 12 when it shipped.

This should be fun.

Welcome home, Tex! I gotta admit, I've been looking forward to your evaluation of the Axioms, particularly your take on the EP600. You are CraigSUB, after all. Nice to have you back. Ray popped in today for the first time in forever. It's like old home week around here.

Ron, he lost count years ago!

We have four theater systems here. Long winters are made shorter that way.

Hi ya Jack - "Tex?" ... I was in Wyoming. You know, where REAL cowboys live....

It was a GREAT trip - one of the guests at the ranch is in the House of Lords in Great Britain, we had dinner every night. Great guy - quite unassuming, too.

Then I managed to luck out and golf with Senator Michael Enzi ( R-Wyoming) ... it was a blast, to say the least.

As for the EP-600, yep, beating the tar out of one of those will be pure entertainment.

I knew you were in Wyoming, but "Welcome home Wy" just doesn't cut it. Real cowboy? Golfing with Senators? NOT!

I expected stories like the movie City Slicker. Ya know, cattle drive. Sleeping under the stars. Helping a cow give birth by sticking your arm........................uh.........................nevermind.

My Western adventures are limited to hiking up mountains or on golf courses. We DID watch City Slickers before Susan and the kids went out (they stay two weeks to my one week) ... the perfect "mood setter" for staying at a ranch.

Hanging with Senators was pretty cool. The gent from England was trying to get his twin 16 year old daughters to obey an 11 o'clock curfew. It was quite educational to see his negotiating skills at work ...

It is good to be back - lots of new biz stuff going on.

Right on schedule, I got tracking numbers today. It looks like this room will be the temporary home for the EPIC 80 / EP-600 until my wife's remodeling is complete ...

That pic is sorta big. When the Axiom package gets here, I will try to make the next round of pics smaller.

And if Amie wants to delete that pic, I am ok with that. ..

Yes, you were, but that pic is STILL obnoxiously large.

I love getting new speakers. Does anyone else here feel the same way ?

Hmmmm ... Most "in vehicle back massagers" are about $50 per treatment. $25 for one that stays there all the time is a STEAL !

For real if anyone is looking for a really good 12" driver for their vehicle this is by far one heck of a deal.

My wife saw that last post of mine. She actually smacked the back of my head. Of course, all she did was hurt her hand. That'll teach her for hitting cement ...

So do I, but I don't have the money! I don't even have a house of my own.

By the way Craig, I never learnt what speakers, power amps and preamps you have. The one in the far corner looks like a Paradigm Studio 100 V3....

Ok ... You asked for it.

Speakers - 1. Paradigms Studio 100 V.3's 2. Energy 2.4i's, 3. ACI Essence V's, Essence Center, Emeralds and Emerald-On-Walls for a 7 channel system. 4. Axiom Epic 80 five channel system. 5. Onix Ref 3 five channel system and 6. Rocket ELT 5 channel system.

Subwoofers. 1. EP-600 2. Velodyne DD-18 3. Twin SVS PB12-Ultras 4. SVS-PB10-ISD 5. Rocket SW-10 SE and a new, $229 Cadence 12 inch "XSUB" I am going to test out - it looks promising for the budget minded.

Electronics - 1. McIntosh MA-6900 two channel. 2. Two Emotiva DMC-1/MPS-1 pre amp / power amp combos 3. Arcam AVR-300 4. Pioneer Elite Receiver 5. Kenwood 7100 receiver.

Three Pioneer Universal players, One Denon 2900 modded by Underwood Wally, and one Arcam DV-78.

According to Fed Ex, The speakers will be here tomorrow. I REALLY am jazzed to beat on that subwoofer. I think it will be put in the room where the SVS twins are now.

I was gonna email you to see if they would be arriving today, but I see that won't be necessary. I'm jazzed to have you beat on the EP600, too. Although, just to calm the nerves of the Axiom folks, maybe we should choose a less violent term than "beat."

Did you get out your tape measure and prepare yourself for a 45" tall subwoofer? I can't wait to hear your lovely wife's reaction to a subwoofer that's half a foot taller, and half a foot wider than the main speakers. You will, of course, share her comments with us, won't you? (that's assuming they're fit for print)

Are you getting a UFW-12, too? It would be nice to see how those two compare head to head.

Edit: I just noticed that your post was made last night, so they ARE arriving today! OH BOY!

HOLY GUACAMOLE, BATMAN! A couple of weeks? That is some snafu. Most unusual.

Not a problem. I am sure they could get them here sooner, but as I have to be out of town next week on biz, I asked Amie to try to get them here the following week ...

We got the correct (I am pretty sure) tracking numbers today - so the stuff should be here next Wednsday or Thursday, just in time for a Holiday weekend, with me house bound with my sons.

The first test will be replacing twin PB12-Ultras with a single EP-600 in our upstairs theater room.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing regarding your ability to play with the new gear?

I notice you waited until the speakers shipped before you referred to "beating the snot out of the EP-600." GOOD THINKING!

Your impressions of the 600 will be the first I've encountered by a "sub guy." Looking forward to it.

Everything arrived today. So far, I have the EP-600 in the room where the twin PB12-Ultras are. So far, it seems pretty good. I just fired up "LOTR-Two Towers" and am listening to the system having only calibrated the 600 by ear....

My wife is leaving for Savannah this Thursday. Right now, we have ACI's, Energies, Onix, Rocket, and Paradigms hooked up. She pleaded NO more until her remodelling is done.

I will sneak the 80's in this weekend...
