Thanks so much to all of you for your help and advice. You guys are so overwhelmingly happy with your speakers that you have convinced me to go ahead and order the M60 (as soon as I decide between oak or cherry). Now I am lost in the sea of receivers. Top end to spend for me is about $600, have pretty much decided against Yamaha but now trying to decide between Denon and HK. Again, mostly music, older rock and concert DVD, loud and clear but do want at least 5.1 and also will use turntable. My Onkyo has all sorts of fancy modes, none of which I care for, so I guess to me bells and whistles are ok, but sound and power are more important. Everyone on this post seems to be so knowledgeable so I look forward to your input.

Denon and Onkyo usually have refurbs on Ubid. Several models will be in that budget.

Just looked at HK site, their refurbs are half price or less! Are they worth it? or am I just asking for problems? Havent heard much good about HK build quality on here.

If you plan to use M60s in a HT, HK or Denon receiver is up to the task. If you plan to use M60s in a stereo setup like I do, I would probably assume the latter, since you posted this thread on "Stereo" section of this forum, I would strongly suggest some separates (2 channel power amp plus pre amp). As other Rotel owners here (BrotherBob, Wid, Mdrew I can recall right now) I am a very happy Rotel owner, and I can assure you that they match Axiom M60s so well. Of course this will cost you some money, but you will be in heaven and will not need to upgrade for a while. I am thinking that even after I build my HT in the near future, I will keep my current 2 channel setup in a different room. A multi channel receiver can never duplicate the redbook cd performance of a dedicated separates 2 channel system.

I ordered my receiver from www.jr.com. Their prices were much better than from HK's site, although I don't remember if I knew about the refurb site at the time, so I probably didn't check that one. Good luck, and when you finally do get your system in, be sure to drop us a line and tell us what you think.

I have the Denon 2805, and it works great for music and movies, plenty of power and sound levels. I did buy brand new at a local retail store and got it for around $720, which was a good deal since list is about $900. I'm sure you could find a 2105 for about the price you can afford.

HK has an E-Bay store - often there are great deals to be had. Currently there have been good deals on the "30" line which has been upgraded to "35". They are refurbed, but I've had great luck with my 630.
