I guess those are made for those who don't mind throwing more than 10K for an amp. I have met some of these guys, and believe me, some people can afford such stuff.

Just 'cause you can afford it doesn't mean it makes any sense....
Rat Shack is looking better than Parts Express. Anyone else have any ideas on where to get AC fans?

I actually have a RAT Shack AC fan in my cabinet and its great... The fans are low noise and they move air. The other upside is...when that thing bites it from being on 24 hours a day you can run back to RAT SHACK....they have a lifetime guarantee with heavy usage. At least thats what the sales guy told me.

These are cheap and very functional. Made for computers they can be used with amplifiers as well. Other models there as well (thermo, color etc) if you browse some through the site.
You will need to do something with the power source though since they are 12 V DC and have some funny plug-ins. On the other hand, AC ones I have heard to be very noisy.

Well, I grabbed that 4" AC fan from Rat Shack today. It's surprisingly heavy. It's also surprisingly loud. Well, that's $30 down the drain, unless someone has an idea where I can get ahold of a cheap AC speed control.
I stink at cooling things silently...
{Edit}
How about a light dimmer, such as this? Anyone have any thoughts?

I guess the usual "silent cooling" solution (a bunch of ice cubes in a double bag placed on top of whatever you want to cool) is out ?
