Wow, not sure I've ever put a $ figure on it all. To be honest, I started the whole remodeling of the basement about a year ago. I have pretty much done everything myself to save money, and just doing a little bit at a time. If I would have hired everything done, man we would have been talking many many thousands, probably closer to 10,000. My ran all the electrical, with help from friends, and my dad and I hung all the drywall. I did have someone come in and mud/texture the walls for me as I've heard horror stories of people trying to do that themselves. You have to understand, I am finishing 3/4 of my basement which includes a bedroom, bathroom, two hallways, and the huge recroom/HT area. It all is about 1800 sq ft. so I'm not sure I can put a $ ammount on just the HT area. I've probably spent at least 3 grand so far on the entire project.

Before I finished my basement, I had never run electrical, framed a wall, hung drywall. About the only thing I had experience was painting, and I hate painting You would be suprised on what you can do yourself and save big Cash..

I have a similar sized room and the pretty much the exact setup you are looking at, a Denon AVR-2805 and the EGM-350. I can say that you would be thrilled with that setup. I have listened to the system at unbelievable SPL's not even realizing how loud it was because of the clarity. Really a very nice setup at an unbelievably low price. Although I'm resisting the temptation to upgrade to the M60's, because they are shiny and new and bigger...

Mark - good to see you!!
You'll LOVE the M60's. They are great. Really. And they come with that New Speaker Smell and everything. You should get them. They'd make you happy. You deserve it.

Tom,
First I have to try the "I think we need 7.1" so I can get some M3's for the rears. Then it's time for the big tv. THEN the M22's will look too puny and helpless next to the 55" tv, so they can be moved into my office where they will be safe and warm while the M60's take their place...

...then the new TV and all the other new gear just won't perform right without a DVD-2910 or 3910. Now my current room will just be too small for the setup and we'll just have to finally bite the bullet and move into the new house we've been looking for that has a spare room for HT. Then the room will be a little too big so I'll need to go up to the 3805 and M80's...
