Hi, guys:
I am thinking to return the Yamaha VX-R2500 and buy the VX-V2600 because it has HDMI connection and video up conversion to 720p and 1080i. I donwder if there are any Yamaha VX-2500 owner, then bought the Denon AVR-3806? In terms of sound character, do they sound quite different?
Thanks for your help!

Han, when tone controls, equalization, etc. are set flat, the frequency response of the Denon and Yamaha(and other similar receivers)are both audibly flat from 20-20KHz. Therefore, they amplify transparently and have no "sound character". Claims to the contrary collapse when the ears alone have to be relied upon in a blind listening test. Also note that the video "upconversion" feature may not be of real benefit unless this processing is better than the processing which your HDTV already does.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Thanks, JohnK. When i watch TV with my analog cable, the quality is not that good. I am wondering if the upconversion could help. there is no point to buy the 2600 if the upconversion does not work that well. I am thinking it would be good enough if the upconverted video looks like
DVD quality.
