Thanks SutterCane. My wife has a hard time getting out of that room all of the time.

Oh it's just Sutter buddy, and with a room like that I can certainly see why she has such a hard time leaving that room. Do you remember where you puchased the paint at by change. I emember you saying is a Ralph Lauren paint or whatever, but do you know where it can be found?

I purchased the paint at Home Depot. You should visit Ralph Lauren website. They have all kinds of finishes. They even have videos on how to apply the paint.

I remember this room... very nice...
You shouldn't have any problems with the QS8 being high up and in the rear that way. With direct firing speakers, the "false front phenomenon" is a problem. Not so with the QS8s, because of their natural dispersion. Will the top woofer interact with the ceiling? Yes. But you won't be able to detect it. I wouldn't worry so much about aiming it at your seating position. Do what looks good in the room. The back surround speaker is mostly for ambience and the occasional pan across the back of the room. A couple of feet difference isnt' going to eb noticeable, nor is whether the speaker is aimed at the listening position.
Congrats on the near completion.

Capn_Pickard, that’s the best news I've heard. I was actually going to lower the QS8 to the same height as the other QS8's. But if I can get away with it being so high like that than that’s what I will do. I talked it over with the wife about me lowering the QS8 to the same height as the others. At first she didn't approve but when she watches movies, she loves the way it sounds. So I explained to her what an extra speaker in the back will do and she changed her mind. So now I have options. Either put it above the doorway or put it at the same height as the others. Which will be best?????? The QS8 will get to my home tomorrow. I would like to get the wall ready tonight so that all I have to do is just mount it.

To be honest - I think either woudl be fine. As you know, those speakers are very forgiving, and with their wide dispersion, I think your best bet is to put it somewhere discrete where you won't later regret having it be placed on the wall.

The speaker doesn't need to be directly behind you. It can be a bit off to the side.
