Don't you love that. Get to work, then take a shower.
Or is the drive so stressful that your antipersperant wears out before you get there.

Kind of reminds me of my friends that run several hog operations. They have to shower and wear bio suits before entering the hog buildings.

Peter, console yourself with the fact that, in a colder climate, a longer commute is better for your car. If I have my information correct, It provides the time for the engine oil to heat up to proper temperature thus minimizing wear. It's those 5 minute jaunts to the grocery in cold weather, during which the engine never really gets warm, that are tough on your engine.

I work 14 feet down the hall from the bedroom. No commute is nice.
Unfortunately, I walk that 14' to fire up my computers before I even get to pee or get my coffee...typically at 5AM. Then I don't shut them down till 11PM or midnight.
I AM doing work that I love though, and I'm not in a cubicle all day. I'll accept the bad for the good...... there are many who have less or work harder, so who am I to complain?

In the cold and in the snow, the "engine" dosen't get as hot, but anti-perspirant is still required, if the vehicle is a Bicycle!!
And yup, in the dark in the morning when it's snowing and the traffic is somewhat heavy; it CAN certainly be stressfull!
When it's the most fun though is in the rain or in the snow, drafting a loaded schoolbus, about two ft back at 35MPH on a moderatly rough and slippery back country road winding its' way between the lakes, while trying to wave back at the kids waving thru the rear bus window!
.....I just never felt comfortable letting go of even ONE handlebar while pulling that time saving manuver!
Gravel trains presented a different problem: No kids to distract you; just the ocassional loose rock
But...no bus stops either!!

So, to hijack my own thread back, nobody is really close to Lexington...
100 miles is too far right now as I am busy from 6:30AM - 7:00PM if I skip dinner.
Oh well, it was just a thought...
