I guess I will start off small, w/ 3 speakers 2 Fronts, 1 Center...and possibly 2 rears. Then, wait for the sub...till later...and keep the rears packaged...till the move is done.

My guess is that the rears won't go unpackaged... Once they are in the house it will kill you to not open them ...This hobby is a terrible disease.

Oh yeah, another vote for the HK. It is a brute. And welcome!

Deck, another welcome. Any of the receivers that you're considering would be fine, so if you can't decide on the basis of features let price be your guide. As to the speakers, if you're going to delay getting a full setup, I'd suggest that you get the QS surrounds rather than the center speaker, since your M80s could at least temporarily serve to form a "phantom" center, while the QSs would substantially contribute immediately to your enjoyment of both music and movies.

Thanks for the suggestion, and welcome. I will definately take that into consideration.

2 Fronts and 2 surrounds is also doable...but I don't want to have to make new holes in the wall (trying to sell the place)...and don't have space for stands, in the current living room. That's why I was thinking just the fronts, and a center...for now...and then the other 4 pieces when I find the right space/room/etc.

Thanks again...the search continues.

You could very well just run the M80s in stereo mode until you get new house. I too will give the edge to the H/K.

Welcome

Definately. And a center channel would help provide the 'middle' sound, that I would be missing. So, the three pieces would work well for me here, I believe. Then, the rest is up to time.

Thanks again.

Deck, the point is that no "middle sound" is "missing" with the two stereo speakers.

so...they are that good...eh? and no, I just like saying 'eh?' mmkay.

See, I have heard my brothers' setup, and that's what impressed me the most. However, that was with every piece imaginable. I didn't (as yet) have the chance to listen to just the fronts, by themselves...so I can't say what that really sounds like. Maybe I will pay him a visit one of these days...

I think I at least put together my 3 speaker package, for now...and will take a trip to the city, once the speakers arrive...to get the AVR...or maybe get the AVR and wait for the speakers to arrive...ACK! Don't ya just despise addictions!!!

I will let ya know how it goes. Thanks again.

I have the Boston avr7120 running m60 mains a 150 center and a pair of m3's as surrounds with a 350 sub.I have yet to have one person listen to it that didn't say it was the best system they ever heard. It's as big as a Buick and damn near weighs as much.Home theater mag. or one of them tested it as high as 240wpc at 4ohms.It will power 9 speakers at once,2 main 1 center 1 sub 2 rears and 4 surrounds.I got mine just to be different. I think it's the best I've ever had.I replaced a 170wpc Sony with it and I have also had a HK that I loved, you can't go wrong with them. Also a Denon, sorry guys I wasn't impressed.BTW why can't I get the smileys to work????

I really like the look of the Boston, very interesting for the price OneCall is asking. Too bad I'm in Canada and they won't ship outside of the States. Oh well, more money saved.
