Wondering what that gold cd in the picture of the M60's and M80's is. Anyone know?

I would assume he's aware that it's there for size reasons but is curious if it is a specific disk. It would be a neat little piece of trivia.

You know what they say about assuming?
If it's for size reference why is it ONLY in the pictures of the M60 and M80?

Some years back, there were a number of disks with their claim to fame being the 'direct to disk' recording session..
They were released with a solid gold top, and if memory serves, used a layer of gold within the disk to increase the disks quality ? I'm sure Alan would have the scoop on that..
As to the actual title, if Amie gets ahold of this thread, it will no doubt turn into a contest :-)
Bring it on baby !!

Ah, the disc! It's our favourite local band, Boyce's Road (www.boycesroad.com). They're a great Toronto band who cottages on the lake with us and who named themselves after the road their cottage is on. They play a live party at our dock every year with lots of friends and family. But yes, it is there just to size the speakers.

Ah, that could be the prize for the next contest! Attendance at Ian & Amie's dock party for you and 10 of your closest friends!! And to top it off, you get to take home their personal speaker setup afterward!!

It could very well have been a demo disc to play with your new speakers. Hsu sends a demo disc with his subs. Test tones, and about a dozen tracks of music. I thought it may have been something like that.
