I did a search and notice its name has been dropped a few times around here.

T-Amp

What do you guys think of this thing?

Think I would notice a difference if I used a T-amp (wired to the high level in/outputs to my STF-2 sub first) for stereo listening over my Yamaha RX-V557 reciever, then switch to the yammy for listening?

If I were do do that I would have PCM going to the yammy, then the yammy doing pre-outs to the T-amp, or just go straight from my computer 1/8 jack.

Thoughts?

15 watts/channel is 15 watts/channel. As soon as you start nearing this thing's max output (during dynamic peaks and such) you're likely to get distortion. Some people like distortion though, so your mileage may vary.

Within its operating limits, the Super T-Amp's freq. response looks to be quite flat, with a slight hump toward 20kHz.

I picked up a bunch of T-Amps, and use one in a 2 channel system with a Pyramid 13.8 V/3A power supply. Although the T-Amp is rated at 15 wpc, that's into 4 Ohms, I think it puts out about 5 wpc into 8 ohms. The more efficient the speakers the better, and the T-Amp will play loud enough to fill a large room in my house with undistorted music.

I use a T-Amp with a pair of Michaura M55 (M22 like) speakers, an Ah! Njoe Tjoeb CDP. I don't use a preamp. The sound quality of the T-Amp is excellent, but quality control on these little amps is a bit spotty. Hope you get a good one.

I have my T-Amp set up in this room, which opens into a large kitchen. The T-Amp, Velodyne CHT10 sub, and Michaura M55s have no trouble filling this space with beautiful music. The top shelf of the audio rack contains the silver T-Amp and the Pyramid power supply, the next shelf - the Ah! Njoe Tjoeb, the third a Denon tuner.

As long as you keep the output level below the amp's distortion point you'll get a big, full, almost tube-like sound from this unlikely little cadidate for an audio component.

Think I would notice a difference vs. my Yamaha RX-V557?

There are some little nuances I am wondering if its the reciever or the speakers.

I'm thinking I would have a dual bananna plug on my axioms, have a run from my reciever to the axioms, then preout from the reciever (decoded from the digital output from computer) to the T-amp, to the sub, then to the front M22's.

Thoughts? I'm just wondering if I can squeeze anything else out of my M22's.

Sounds like a good way to seriously damage one or both amps. I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got a very trustworthy switching system between the two.
