Has anyone tried one of these with a Sub???

http://www.auralex.com/sound_isolation_gramma/sound_isolation_gramma.asp

I have heard good things about these with bass amps, and I am thinking about getting one for my sub that I just ordered.

Also anyone have experience with these subs earthquake sound supernova mkiv-10.

I'm interested in getting one. Not because I think it will change the sound, but I want something to "de-couple" the sub from the floor. My downstairs neighbor may appreciate it. I just wish they came in smaller sizes.

At 300 lbs, I can't imagine the shipping cost on one of those things. I simply don't like my neighbors enough for that.

Uh, Ken, are you wearing your glasses?

300 lbs is the weight limit.

I use it's alter ego, the Subdude. I can't say for certain that it helps, but, being in a townhouse, I wanted to do all I could to protect my neighbor on the other side of our one common wall which is all the way on the other side of the townhouse from the wall with the subwoofer. When I recently watched all 10 episodes of Band of Brothers, I fear I failed. (at least I watched them in the daytime, and not at midnight )

I wonder if it would help if the neighbor is upstairs... Now I'm kind of interested in the thing.

As far as it being too big, thats nothing that a circular saw can't change

These are only $30-40 canadian, so I think that since I have heard some good reviews on it tightening the low end a bit, I am just wondering if the carpet spikes will do the same thing??

I think that once my sub is delivered my guitar amp might have to sit on the floor again

It is worth a try. My sub won't be in until June 9th estimated delivery I will post my results

Things such as this wouldn't appear to have any capability to directly "tighten" the bass, but if it cut down on vibrations of nearby room objects might have some indirect benefit. Try a little homemade isolation(e.g. a stack of newpapers, magazines etc. under the sub)first to see if there's any noticeable result.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

JohnK, would using a stack of audiophile magazines produce better results than plain old newspaper?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
