With the recent changes to the forums, i now have a msg on my homepage indicating i'm over the quota for max PMs allowed in storage.
Does anyone know the new limit? Has Amie posted this info which i cannot find?

Many thanks for the speedy replies.
It appears i have a LONG day ahead of me going through posts.
After being on the boards for 4 years, they do tend to collect. I'm at 423 and counting down...(for the inbox that is, as for the outbox, that will take another day or two).
Maybe Amie should implement a storage limit based on membership time. An extra 50 free msgs for each year still active...
No one send me a PM this week. This purging could take awhile.
CORRECTION: 442 and counting down.

Down to 380 in the inbox, still over 480 in the outbox.
Geez i wish i could view these faster. Even the tabbed browsing method is taking awhile.
I never realized how many invites i had (or how many i gave out). There's enough to do a two month tour around the whole U.S. across about 8 states. There are many people who have come and left the boards. Heck, i don't even know if these people are still in the same places. Now i need to clear out my address book too.
What a chore.

Well i have my PMs under the 300 mark, but still get the error message. I'm wondering if i need to have the combined total of inbox and sent under 300.

Chess, it's the combined total of sent and received. I found just after the change by a process of trial and error(I was able to send myself a PM when I reduced my total to under 200)that this was indeed the case. Amie shortly after that increased the 200 limit to 300.

Whew. Finally cut the PM box down to under 300. Amie, you slave driver. That took me hours, in total, literal time. Fair warning next time, give the veterans some more headroom. After 4+ years, the dust collects darn it!

I can just imagine the discussion up in Axiom-land. "I think the new BBS puts a limit on PMs" "Oh, that's no good, we don't want to inconvenience the users; what is the limit ?" "200 saved messages" "Whew, no problem. I can't imagine anyone having anything LIKE 200 saved messages.

Now that really is the killer.
