I think it's time for ALL the M60 owners to stand up, and be counted!

I think it first started here...back a year or so, when the "Axiom M50 posse" were strutting their stuff about THEIR speakers.

I know they are great speakers, (like all Axioms) but, did those guys REALLY think that the M50 (or any speaker for that matter) was equal to the M60?

Now, fast forward to the present.........All of a sudden, there is post, after post....M80s this, M80s that.
Once again, a GREAT speaker...but NOT an M60!

We ALL really like which ever Axiom speakers we have chosen...but, I think it is time for all of the M60 owners to unite.

We can establish, once and for all, that the M60 IS Axiom's true flagship speaker.

To prove it,.......we WILL shock, and awe them all, with our sheer numbers!

Axiom M60 owners...speak out!

Larry, even though I own the 80's, your post was so moving it inspired me to:

[shout]AXIOM M60'S ARE THE.....[/shout]

[quick whisper, turning with tail between legs]....ah, nothing. Forget I said anything.[/sit down]

Sorry, Rick was staring at me with this evil glare.

Is this like... Speaker envy or something? The 80's are the flagship. The first step to recovery is admitting that your in denial.

Larry,

I was a diehard 60's owner for 2 years. As you know I recently joined the Dark Side with my Master "Wid" training me in all the Sith techniques for insane volumes.

The 60's will always have a place in my heart, but I must now join my fathers side and rule the audio galaxy.

You go, Larry!

The M60's JUST MAKE SENSE.

They hit the sweet spot in the price/performance ratio; you need that three way tower, but you don't HAVE to go off the deep end.

They are the right size. I mean really, the M80's are excessively deep. Freaks, I tell you.

They look cool. As much as I respect Ian's designs, that whole "how many drivers can I put on the baffle" thing just doesn't excite me. And if - like me - you actually have the grills on, the M60 is BY FAR the best looking Axiom speaker.

They sound great. I have a giant room, and they play as sweet and loud as I want.

M60 > all!

Of course, this is all very easy for me, since I'm from Tacoma (which is NOT Seattle).

Proud Posse Member since 2003!

The thread has just started, and already, those "other speaker" guys have:

1. Crashed the "M60s owners only" thread.
2. Threatened to "jack" the thread....(with some kind of salad).
3. Their leader has even started a dreaded speaker wire thread!

They are looking kinda scared....so, start posting M60 owners!

As your mortal enemy (a simultaneous member of the M50 and M80 posses), I have to admire your capacity for self-delusion.

It's clear that anything but the M60s is Axiom's flagship speaker.

Flahship speaker? Is that like the civilian Hummer is the Flagship of SUVs?

In a similar comparison, my Jeep Rubicon can go anywhere a Hummer can go and then some because it's smaller. I've proven it and it was one third of the cost even after a few mods.

Actually, I've never heard the 80s so I can't legitimately comment but hey, I like talkin Jeeps!

Hey, while we're on the hummer bashing track, I love the video of the H2 whose axle breaks. Going over a rock... bang--both wheels pointing towards one another. Heh heh heh...

There's also the one with the H2 that gets stuck on a stump at a Jeep convention. The Jeeps have to tow it off. Heh heh heh...

That's what happens when you pay $30000 extra for a rebody of a Chevy Tahoe.

Ken,

You too?

ANOTHER "jack" attempt......AND I'm guilty of self delusion, eh?

I'll have you know, not only ARE the M60s the best Axioms to date, and "flagship worthy".....even this M60 thread itself has been highly rated!

Heh heh heh.

As a M60 owner I have to cry foul with all these M22, M50, M80 interlopers???

BTW, in case Amie reads this, any chance of my factory outlet M80's shipping early???

So the above question to Amie is now kind of moot as I just got a shipment e-mail from Noreen!!!

Proud M60 owner here. I do agree with some other posts, though, even if those people should post in their own thread since they aren't M60 owners.

Anyway, the M80 IS the flagship. Usually, flagship products are "out of reach" of the average person. They also offer some sort of feeling of being in the elite. The M80's were too pricey for me. Then, like most companies, there is the product that has that great price/performance combination. That is the M60. I'd say something flattering about the other speakers, but why? This is a "M60 owners only thread" so why cater to those hi-jackers.

BTW: My wife has a good egg salad recipe...

Please...no FORMER M60's owners should post. You are all traitors! I've owned my M60's for at least 3 years and am still thoroughly enjoying them. I'll admit being curious to hear the M80's, but they currently cost twice as much as I paid for my M60's. So unless someone can convince me that they sound twice as good as the M60's, I don't see it's worth the upgrade.

When I bought my M80s, from the outlet, they were close to the current price of the M60s.

Back when there were dealers, I was able to snatch mine up for $650 US dollars!

OK...if I were a NEW buyer and had to pay current prices, I'll admit that I would be taking a closer look at the FO M80's.

Rick,

I've had my M60's almost three years....not only did my "flagships" cost less than your speakers...I got them in: "classic oak" (custom colour) to boot, AND...they have a little sticker with MY name on it...top THAT!

------JohnK: THIS IS FOR YOU, JohnK.-----------------------

I would like to dedicate my NEW avatar to you (JohnK)....I know you will approve.

M60's owners: We've got them on the run now...keep posting, the M60's are taking over!

Larry

I find that a higher proportion of eggs in Potato Salad is just the ticket. Kind of like egg salad with potatoes.

I don't won the 60's but I have to say that after hearing them all, it is my favourite speaker in the lineup.

Since Bruce refers to the "true Axiom flagship", apparently he's doubling his listening enjoyment with another set of M22s, possibly in a custom finish.

The M22 club is so exclusive, not even members are aware they're in it.

Congrats! now Minnesota and Iowa and Illinois will be a rockin.

I wonder if we all cranked our 80's up on the same song at the same time across the country, would we be in audio utopia?

The Monday/Tuesday thing was a guess on my part, but I couldn't track them until today. , so I guess delivery will take a couple days longer than I expected.

The delivery man just left me 1 single VPM60v2 center channel speaker. He left before I could ask him if this was indeed one half of my pair of M60v2 tower speakers?? I hope this is the case because I don't think it would be wise to try and set this large of a speaker on top of my Toshiba display.

You could and give us a quick review of the M60 as a center!

I wouldn't want to re-start any rumors, but maybe, just maybe, this is the top secret 'big foot' center that has been hinted about in the past.

I heard a tap, tap, tapping on my chamber door at like 8:30 in the morning on Wednesday, 3/14. I thought to myself, who could be tap, tap, tapping on my chamber door at this time in the morning? Could it be the delivery man? Yes it was. But alas, there was only one M60v2. This evening I called the shipper and it appears that they have lost my single M60v2's mate somewhere in the continental US. An investigation is currently being conducted into the M60napping. The one that I do have is unpacked and it is just beautiful, man. Bruce is like majorly BUMMED out about the missing twin, though.
