I am waiting for the Shelby 500, but if some one was to offer the new Camaro to me I would gladly take it. Very nice, much better tlines than the hard top had.

wow...they've made the camaro cool again! Maybe when I speak of my '87 IROC Z in the future I won't have to mutter it under my breath like I do now.

At least you can say you own a classic car and soon an antique. The IROC's were cool production cars back then, no need to mutter.

Craig, you are the coolest. If gas was about $1.00/gallon that would be spiffy, no pun intended.

I always did like the IROC Z's ... nice automobiles. Way back whenever I was in high school I dated a girl who was given a '69 SS 396 Camaro for her 16th birthday, exactly like the car pictured here but it had a black convertible top ... I'd love to have that car today.

I've never owned a cool car. I'm planning on having something freakin' awesome to make up for that when I find time for a mid-life crisis!

That is about the only Camaro that I have ever really liked, and I've just seen the first pictures of it about 3 months ago. Maybe it is because my dad had a '67 Pontiac Firebird (back when it had real chrome) convertible. So I have fallen victim of the Pontiac vs. Chevy thing. I am really liking this version of the Camaro though.
Anyway, that is another story.
There are some cool Stangs out there, but they are usually chocked full of aftermarket parts, even if they are good like Saleen models. My problem is that no "cool" car has exclusivity. Even the $100,000+ cars are becoming more and more common place. What ever happened to cars that were made by hand at a pace of less than 50 a year? Oh well.
Hey, here is a one of a kind Stang. It would sell for about $100,000 if they mass produced it, but they are never making it... The guy at Ford says "that isn't what the Mustang is all about."

Other than having a black interior this is what I bought new in the fall of 1969. Do I wish I still had it? Is the Pope Catholic?

OK, you guys can't show your 80's IROC w/o blasting Dokken and showing off your mullet in the local 7/11 (or Circle K, depending on where you live) parking lot.

It was Van Halen that I had blasting. This is the car I REALLY wanted. There was a beauty just like this for sale at the end of my street. I was all ready to buy it when my mother decided I should have someone give it a good once over first. I'm glad she did, because though it was GORGEOUS on the surface (both inside and out) it was all rusted out underneath. They had just given it a really nice paint job, but didn't repair the rust damage to the underbody. The next car I had my mind set on was this... *sigh* yeah, a 1969 Corvette. It was in great shape too...alas my mom nixed the idea, saying "you'll get yourself killed in that thing!" (Mothers don't always make sense...the '69 camaro was ok, and ultimately she even encouraged me to get the '87 IROC!) Damn you guys...you've brought back my love for 60's muscle cars! I'd forgotten how much I dug them!

I bought this car in Siver in 1973, it had 30,000 miles on it and was in mint condition I paid $800.00 for it, boy I wish I still had it. 1968 Firebird 400 [image] [/image]

I had a 69 Firebird 400 back in 1978. That was one sweet ride.

69 buick wildcat convertible While not as pretty as the other pictures, this was the actual car I owned I had an old car. one of 2400 made. a young hispanic pulled out in front of me at lunch, after I had had the car about a month. ' no license, no insurance, no speaka english' . He went to jail and then vanished. I unfortunately, only had liability insurance, and had been such a tightwad a couple years earlier, didnt elect to take uninsured motorist coverage. I couldnt be too pissed at the guy, as I had done all the same stuff when i was young, well except for the ' no speaka english ' part. i got my wildcat back on the road to this point, and then sold it because of the nagging wife, ' it is taking up the whole garage and I could park my car in there syndrome'. If i had it to do over again, i shoulda walked away from the car when it was wrecked. I would like another old convertible someday, but I dont wanna try to restore one. way way to much $$ for a novice like me. A retired guy from work now has my old car, I could get it back, but if I had the money I would get a new saturn sky, pontiac solstice or g6, or cadillac xlr convertible.
