Ha ha, that's funny. It's very pretty, I'll give it that.

I'd rather have a Mercedes CL600.

Chess, I'd suspect that the Steinways would be adequate, especially for solo piano, but many true audiophiles would prefer an "upgrade", such as these .

I'd rather buy a small home. However, from JohnK's list, these are my favorite. I understand they have them new-fangled surrounds made of foam!

Yeah, those were the ones that stood out for me, too. Such, um, pretty speakers...

Anyone else think that those million dollar ones look obscenely out of place in that (admittedly, rather overdone) room? Not to mention they look like a speaker stack from a concert with a little bit of veneer around them.

I'm in the wrong business. I suggest Axiom start making enormous speakers with lots of drivers and fiddly bits, maybe some sharp edges sticking out. Then they can charge whatever they want for them, apparently.

Joe, I'm greatly attracted by these for the reason that I've noticed a lack of presence in the tubas and french horns on some of my classical recordings. The Sphaerons certainly would appear to be able to remedy the situation, but although I could handle the $325K, it's a little more than I was really thinking of spending.

Did anyone else sign up to receive more information about this staggering cohesion of design and style? I got an email today with a PDF brochure attached. They have a lot more pictures of it in different settings. Still only the black version, but apparently it's available in a variety of colors, so there's that selling point.

Apparently, the patent for their room correction system is "one of the most comprehensive ever filed in the history of acoustics, with more than 50 claims for new technology." RoomPerfect TM is "capable of making the first fully three-dimensional map of a room's sound field." You're supposed to be able to place the loudspeakers wherever they look best, and it can compensate. I'm skeptical. $150,000 doesn't seem to be nearly enough to make that happen.

No problem. If anyone else would like it, I'm happy to pass it on.
