In regards to the air leak, verify all the screws on the driver, port, and amp cover are snug. Even the slightest microscopic hole can let air escape.

Just curious, Mo; what was the purpose of the 60Hz sub setting, since the receiver would already be doing a crossover well above that and the usual idea is to get the sub's low-pass filter out of the way? Yes, it is unusual these days for a receiver not to have a crossover selection below 100Hz available; possibly this is an older model.

I'm not so sure that crossing over at 100 Hz is so bad. The 60s will still receive some signal down to 50 Hz and below, even with a 24 dB/octave filter.

If you don't have a problem with the sub's location being too obvious there's a lot to be said for just setting to small all round, 100 Hz crossover, EP350 to Bypass and enjoying the system for a few days.

Having said that, it's also worth trying other settings once you have a baseline idea of what the sound should be. Every room is different, and I have still not found a way to anticipate what setting will actually be the best for that room.

JohnK,

I was concerned that if the sub's cross-over was set too high, it would sound "muddy".

I am really curious to know what his final settings will be.

i finally got my new amp from axiom. When i took mine off, all of the exterior connections were lacking the airtight 'glue' that the new one had...it sounded like a bird was in my room with low frequencies. Now my 350 sounds reallllly nice. cant wait to go home today and test out all my movies with a good sub now...

any good movie suggestions for great bass or surround?

i have found the chase scene in the bourne identity with the mini has great surround effects

The Darla tap scene from Finding Nemo is very good. The rise of the tripods from War of the Worlds is also good. For surround I found AVP, King Kong, the Jurassic Park Trilogy, the Blade Trilogy, Black Hawk Down to be very good.
