Hooking up my first amp to my Denon!! I decided on the RPA-1. Does the cable quality really matter (from pre-out to amp)? I can pick up cable at Circuit City which is ridiculously cheaper than say a Monster cable (I would never buy anyway; being overpriced pieces of crap as far as I'm concerned). If it is important, any suggestions? I am a Canadian denizen; so something available close to home would be best.
Thanks for your help.

Any cables you buy should be fine without any gain or loss from an audio standpoint.

Just get a few 2-3ft coax audio cables with RCA ends on them and you will be good to go. Don't pay a lot for the monster stuff. Radio Shack has their Gold series which is not to bad. Monoprice has this which works fine as well.

Circuit City has RIGHT-ANGLED RCA PHONO cables. Anyone use these instead of a straight plug in cable? The only benefit I could see is that they don't stick out as much, giving more space and are more secure. Image didn't work. I don't have a sweet clue how to insert images in my posts.

These should work, I personally like a little more insulation similar to subwoofer coax, but for audio this should be fine. For images you want to use img not image. Also, you posted the URL to the webpage, not the image.

The quality doesn't matter unless you have a long run. If you're under 10 feet, then you don't have to worry. Over 10 feet and you need to start considering shielding quality.

I've found two 8ft. PUREAV SILVER SERIES RCA AUDIO CABLE for $40 Cdn. Belkin sells some solid products like their power conditioners. These cables look nice.

You should be able to walk into any home improvement store like Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, OR a Walmart (if they are up there) or a Radio Shack or a consumer electronics store and purchase some 2-3ft audio interconnects. Why do you need something 6-8ft long? Your AV equipment should be relatively close to each other aren't they?

I have an entertainment unit around my 60 inch television. The whole left side cabinet is taken up with other components. I'm thinking the best placement for the amp to give it adequate breathing room is in the other Cabinet on the other side of my TV. That's the reason for the long run.
