Ian and Alan have made their points about the benefits, however remote, of bi-wiring the M60ti.

I'll be getting the M60ti, M40ti, VP150 and in early March and will not bi-wire them. I bought 3 X 12ft AudioQuest Slate cable at a very good price about 4 months ago. My questions:

1. Since there are 2 pairs of binding posts at the back of a M60ti, how should I hook it up to the slate when there are only 2 spades on each cable? Does the M60ti come with a jumper? Would buying a "better grade" jumper improve the sound?

2. I did not know I would be buying Axiom 4 months ago and the Slates were terminated with 1/4" spade at the speaker end. Is there any way to make it fit the binding post of the M60ti or it needs to be re-terminated?

Yes the binding posts come equipped with a jumper. You could replace this, but I would save your money.

You can reterminate with a correct size spade terminal, or you can buy banana's that have the ability to accept the spades. You could spend time "altering the size" of the current spades, but this could be somewhat less than satisfying. You could damage the spade, or create a connection that is not mechanically or electrically secure. Connections can alter sound, typically a bad connection can cause audible problems.

I am new to this HT stuff. Let say I re-terminate the speaker cable with the proper size of spade and install the jumper that come with the M60ti, how do I connect the speaker cable (2 spades) to the binding posts (still 4 posts), i.e., to the upper pair or the lower pair?

The jumpers electrically connect the 4 posts, and reconnect the two internal halves of the speaker crossover. So with the jumper in place, you have essentially 2 binding posts, as they are electrically joined by the jumper. You can connect to either set, as they are joined. Most people will connect to the bottom posts, as the cable typically comes up from the speaker base. This is not a hard and fast rule, although your speaker manual may dictate which to use.
