Hey all,
I just bought one of these and I wouldn't mind starting up some chat about it. I picked up COD 4 but had some problems with my "gamer profile" and my "gamertag".
What happened was I signed up online (on a computer) for a new gamertag (my old one from 2003 is long gone). All went well and now I am registered. So I goto my xbox and instead of "recover gamertag" option, I just create a new profile, then goto that profile and then recover gamertag...well the stupid 360 made 2 profiles for the same name!! One for xbox live and one offline, I did about 3 hours worth of COD 4 on my OFFLINE profile, so it wasn't showing up online (gamerpoints).
Long story short, I got pissed off and deleted everything, and started again with recover gamertag right off the bat.
COD 4 is a great game, I highly recommend it, very addicting. After I complete the "hardened" level, I plan on going veteren, which I hear is insanely hard.
My Gamertag is HuTz4L, look me up if you guys want.

I'll add you probably tonight, though I'm usually playing single player stuff. I'm Bastia.
I need CoD 4 sometime, but I have other expenses. I haven't found my bottomless coinpurse yet.

I'm not in to the FPS games but I love Forza 2 and NHL '08. I'm planning on picking up Tiger Woods, but I'm not sure if I will get '07 or '08 as it depends on what my buddies have. If you ever want to race or play hockey, I'm HDHAY. I've only had the 360 for a month and a half, so I'm still a rookie at the games

You guys won't know how good COD 4 is until you trade in Halo 3 for it I should mention that I am a Halo 1 fan, I had some hope that they would add xbox live multiplayer to it for the "xbox originals" downloads starting in December, but they left it unchanged, I know alot of people, myself included, that would have paid $60 for Halo 1 with xbox live capability. Too bad...

I gotta say, Halo 1 must have been light years better on the XBOX than on the PC. On the PC, it was fairly boring, and the AI pissed me the hell off. "I'm going to take point!" Thanks, Cap. When you die because you're stupid, I fail. Great. I say this having loved Bungie's previous work, namely the Marathon series and Myth I and II. Oni wasn't really very good, though.

I haven't spent much time online, but I was up to level 4, now I made a new gamertag (a whole other story) and haven't done anything online...I just got my 12 month Gold off ebay too, so I have just upgraded to Gold today.
Its VERY fun and rewarding, I like how guns get unlocked the more you play.

It was more the system link games than the campaign (even tho the campaign has a great storyline). I used to have 8 guy get togethers and play 4v4 Halo 1 at least 2 times a week for a year straight (obviously before I was married). The Multiplayer on Halo 1 is second to none.

That's kind of what I figured. Me, I like Half Life 2 deathmatch, although I haven't played in ages.
And I only like it at LAN parties--never managed to get into online deathmatching. Probably because I pretty much stink at it.

LAN parties is what made Halo 1 great, I prefer it over xbox live, however, being married now, xbox live is a great way to hookup with your buddies and not leave the house and come back at 1AM.

Heh... the couple of lan parties I've been to were weekend-long affairs 100 miles from my home. My wife was very nice about it, though. I have a feeling if I tried to leave her with The Boy for a weekend just so I could go gaming, it wouldn't go over quite as well.

I liked the first Halo more just because I was better at it. I never got used to the weapons balance changes in Halo 2, and I've barely played Halo 3 (just campaign on Normal, no multiplayer). LAN parties with Halo were great. I would usually come out on top in the groups I played with. That all changed with Halo 2. Ha ha. I guess I wasn't dedicated enough to get used to it.
I still don't enjoy playing multiplayer matches over Xbox Live, even if it's only people I know. It's a different experience when you're all in the same house, sharing food and taking turns.

you know that you can log onto your xbox live account with your windows live ID at xbox.com, and add friends over the computer, and it will transfer to your 360 Let me just say that I am addicted to COD4, it is perhaps the best xlive multiplayer experience available for FPS. The RPG elements (gaining XP and leveling up, getting new weapons and perks, weapon attachments) is what drives the element on this game. It just adds a whole new reason to get more kills with certain weapons, work on getting better at other weapons to level up your weapon with new attachments. VERY addictive!

What does she play on it? mostly arcade games like sonic the hedgehog, carcasonnne, ect. She has been playing a lot of the guitar hereo 3 demo though. I think we might buy the game +guitar. Not sure though because they just came out with that rockband game that comes with a guitar, drums, and a microphone, and you can play 3 player mode with all 3 Hutzal, I forgot about that feature through xbox.com! thanks for the reminder I just added you, CV, and HAY I'll have to look through this thread later and see if there were other gamertags listed

If you're always going to be playing with a group, it sounds like Rock Band is the way to go, but if you're going to end up playing solo a fair amount, Guitar Hero III might be the better way to go. Also, how hardcore are you? It sounds like Rock Band's difficulty is a bit lower. From what I read, it sounds like both games are a lot of fun, though. I had Guitar Hero II, but I didn't have the patience for it at the time, and I gave it to my sister. I figured I'd get III if I got the itch to try it again.

Just a quick post regarding my dead XBox:
MS quoted us 4-6 weeks to repair my 360 when I got the "red ring of death" last week. Yesterday, I received a brand new XBOX (manufactured 11/6/07) with a note apologizing for any inconvenience.
People can bash MS left and right; I just thought I'd throw this out there. Mistakes in manufacturing and design can happen.... I think MS did wonderfully in handling the problem.

The one and only time I had a hardware issue with a Microsoft product was rectified right away with a new product sent out and they never requested the original back. They do seem to understand customer service.

People who bash MS typically do it for their operating system. And we all know that gamers are all crybabies who blog loudly.
