My Oppo has suddenly decided it no longers read the multi-channel part of SACDs. It always reverts back to dual channels. When that happened, I noticed that many settings had reverted back to default. Things that have been tried or verified:
1) SACD priority is set to Multi-Channel. Settings was manually changed a few times to try to "wake-up" the unit. 2) Unplugging the unit for a while 3) DVD-Audios work just fine (5 channels full range to receiver) 4) "Reset de defaults" menu used 5) I have never performed any firmware upgrades (and according to their site, there is no need)
This happens after watching a DVD that was caysing problems to my A30, but was playing fine with the Oppo. Could it have been a disk balance problem that screwed things up?
If you have ever experienced this problem, I would appreciate any help.

OK FALSE ALERT! I re-inserted (to see if there was an error message) the DVD in and I did see a message "Hi-resolution output is prohibited by disk blablabla" and then "480p selected". The **** thing caused my Oppo to re-configure itself for 480p, which is not enough bandwidth to pass hi-res PCM channels!
I re-configured it to 720p and then higher and everything is back to normal.
This is both pffff and grrrr.
