Hi all.

Happy New Year!!!
Since this is my first time back at the board since Christmas Vacation. I vacation from pretty much everything when I go.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the Camera advice. We are very happy with it. The auto setting takes great snapshots and here is one I am very happy with where I was able to use the focusing pointer to ensure I got the head in focus despite all the branches around it. I also tried in Macro mode and it did a better job of total picture focus but the cat itself wasn't quit as vibrant. Also, he looked away so this is the keeper.

Thought I would share as I think it makes a nice Christmas picture to finish up the season with.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

I nearly bought that camera as well, I decided to go with the Panasonic TZ3, strictly for the 10x optical, it was a long debate in my mind, for nearly 6 months...

Neat pic.

After reading many reviews on point and shoot cameras (with some creative abilities) and then trying a few out, I also bought the Canon A720. It was a Christmas gift for my wife and for it's abilities it is very competitively priced.

I was real tempted to go for the A650 because for me it was easier to hold (I have big hands) but it's twice the price of the A720 and all you get for the additonal $ is 12 vs 8 megapixels resolution ending up on a small sensor that can't take advantage of the increase and a swivel LCD panel.

I played around with it over the holidays and was quite happy with the results. It beat the heck out of lugging my Canon 30D to the hill to get some action shots of my kids tobogganing with visiting friends and Aunts.
