The Samsung 1200 uses the Reon. There is a review on it at Secrets and the review is very good. However, it lacks decoding of all the new formats, so it’s a bust as far as I’m concerned. Plus, the Samsungs have all been pretty buggy, as reported by users at AVS. The Panasonic BD 30 is a great BR machine, but not so great with SD. Samsung 1200 Reveiw -

They are cheap and you will also get an incredible bargain with outstanding audio playback. The 981 may have a ‘slight’ edge over the 980 with video, but the 980 blows the 981 away for audio.
