So anyone else out there done the update yet? I just did it and it went very smoothly. You do have to reset all of your settings again but it does state that future updates won't require a full reset.

Question, is this the first update or the second? I updated out of the box when I got the unit in november. IS there a new one?

Last time I checked it said there was some 3 minute update available, which I guess is bogus according to the guys at AVS... I guess you can install the 3 min update and then later it tells you there is another 3 min update to do.

Looks like the last update is from Dec. 07 making the total 2 updates since it was released. It takes about 40-50 min.

I just checked and it said there was a 3 min update again.

I wonder if it will erase my settings if I do the update.

It may have been december when I updated my firmware... I don't remember

Print out the download for the linked site and it shows you the version numbers and how to tell if you have the latest version.

I guess I have the most updated version.... My serial number is greater then 09001 so the first update was done at the factory.

The update I did must have been the second one... I have the add new feature option that was added with the second update.

However, Holding down status and return then pressing power does nothing on my unit... It does not show any version numbers... it does not even turn on.

The second firmware update had to be released in november though, because I got my unit at the first of nov and updated it out of the box.

That's kind of weird that it won't turn on while holding the status and return. You are using the hard off/on button beside the stand by button right? I know kind of obvious but never hurts to ask the obvious once in awhile.

ok, all of the firmware is up to date. I got it to turn on when I was pressing status and repair.

It turns out that I tried to do it the first time incorrectly.

The standby button was red/off. Then I turned off the main power and held the status and return buttons while pressing the main power.

I guess the standby button has to be green before you hit the main power off

I am not sure why it says I have a 3 min update to do. When I first did the update it said 'latest' but last time I checked it said there was a 3 min update. I think I even did the 3 min update once and it still failed to say 'latest'

Oh well

Could be it displays the 3 min update message just to make the connection and check for any updates now.
