I'm looking to use the zone 2 output of my prepro to power a set of inwall M3's in another room. That room is 60+ feet away. Am I better off running longer preamp cables or longer speaker cables? I have a choice of where I put the amp (BPA-1 or similar).

Thanks for any input.

Scott

Scott, coaxial cables operating at audio frequencies have essentially no loss at that sort of distance, but could possibly be subject to interference if it ran into some unusually strong stuff(not typical)somewhere along the way. Speaker wire is sort of the reverse: it's essentially immune from outside interference, but losses at that distance could be significant(12ga or thicker would hold it to a reasonable amount).

Cost of the two options shouldn't be significantly different. For example, you can get a 50' pair of stereo connects from MonoPrice for about $11. I'd be inclined to go with long coax and shorter speaker wire, but the choice isn't likely to be critical.
