I never noticed any lag during our comparisons with it, but then again we had the volumes up quite a bit louder.

I did notice last night that the SVS would not make any sound when at that low of a volume(60-65db) unless very bass heavy music was played or explosions with HT, other than that it was silent.

OK, that's really good to hear, since we tend to listen to music at rather low levels.
