If I set all my speakers to Small, and the reciever's crossover is set to 80hz, does it really matter what the crossover is set to on the sub? Should it be set to 80 as well, or should it be turned all the way up to 150hz on the sub?

You should probably turn it up to 150 in order to make sure that the sub crossover is out of the way of the receiver.

Right-o me old chap.

Ken is correct. Crossovers are an accepted evil in the world of audio: in general you want to have as few as possible. Since your receiver is already pulling crossover duty, you either want to disable the sub's internal crossover (if it has that feature), or just turn it up as high as it will go.
