I've always liked "the washington post" and the other well known Sousa marches, but my collection is limited to a bargain bin vynal lp I got long ago. Can anyone suggest a high quality recording of such material? I can play any of the formats. I'm sure there are lesser known artists as well, and I've been on this quest for new artists lately.
I'm itching to blast TWP at a stoplight.

Rather than a strictly military band disc of Sousa favorites my first suggestion is this much broader march collection that spans almost 300 years. Beginning relatively mildly with Bach it progresses through a real winner in the Procession of the Nobles from Rimsky-Korsakov's Mlada, through some Sousa hits and on to John Williams. Then for a military band Sousa collection try the Grenadier Guards .

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Thanks, John. I had a feeling you'd come through. Both those discs will be in my upcoming Amazon order. \:\)
