You might want to consider taking a trip to Nassau. You can buy certified stones there for about 25% what they run you in the states. You can pay for your trip with what you save.
I have no advice other than that for this topic. I hate this part of the mating ritual. The guy never wins this contest.

You might want to consider taking a trip to Nassau. Well, if there's also a trip in the works, I'd say - come to Canada! Then as a souvenir she takes home a lovely conflict-free Canadian diamond and you take home a little something from Axiom to remember the moment by! Lucky Ian - my ring finger is a size 3.5. Doesn't take much to cover!

I think I will watch the movie "Blood Diamond" with my GF before we go ring shopping... Then if she sees a big diamond she likes I 'll just say "Now remember that poor family in the movie..."

Or get a manufactured diamond. They're becoming nearly indistinguishable from natural. And you can get them in many cool colors.
