Has anyone had any experience with Emotiva products in particular the MMC-1. I'm thinking of getting a processor for the HDMI and audio processing since my current av receiver is lacking in that department. The UNC-1 is due out in the fall so it's either get the MMC-1 now or wait for the UMC-1 in the fall. Any opions or advice would be welcome. Mel N.

If you are planning on using Lossless formats for movies, a la Blu Ray or HD DVD I emailed emotiva about the MMC-1 vs. and UMC-1 and learned one very important detail. The MMC-1 will not receive any audio through HDMI, only the video. So if you have a PS3, or if your BD player doesn't internally decode the lossless sountracks and output through Analog Multichannel, there is no Lossless audio to be had. I would wait for the UMC-1 if you are looking for that.
it seems that a few of those companies are in that transition mode this summer. I've noticed that the outlaw receivers are quite cheap lately, hopefully in process of turning out some new units with HDMI 1.3 features.

Thanks thefwam. It's the waiting that's the hard part. Sort of like waiting for the Axiom speakers to arrive. I mentioned the UMC-1 just for that same issue about the current decoding. Thanks again. Mel N.

Yeah I have the PS3, which decodes internally, so I was thinking it was all great, so I'm glad I sent that email instead of being really sad when my MMC came.
That darn UMC seems to keep moving back, I thought it was pretty firm in July, but that doesn't look to be the case anymore.

Received an e-mail from Emotiva on Tuesday stating that their hoping for a late fall release for the UMC. Whatever late fall means and they didn't specify a year. Mel N.

Ken, you have an insider connection to give a Feb date? That would be a little later than I would have hoped. Mel N.

I bought the MMC1 so that i could get 40% off all future processors(one per generation) The XMC1 to be exact. However the mmc1 is a GREAT processor if you can hold out for the full hdmi Functionality and HD formats on the second generation I recommend getting the mmc1. Emotiva is a great company just like Axiom.. Emotiva also has alot of new products on the horrizion
