Hello all

By no means was I trying to say that the Paradigm Signatures S8 is not an amazing speaker they are, and I love the build quality, the way they look, and the way they sound! They rock on all levels. It is like the old saying it’s easy to find an expensive bottle of wine you love, but it is even more satisfying to fine a less expensive bottle of wine that you can fall in love with. Both Paradigm and Axiom satisfy’s my level of taste, which is by no means an audiophile expert ear. I just know what I like in regards to my listening experience. I used the words like “smooth range” and “quick transition from lows to highs” as words to express my listening pleasure on how they feel, similar to me but I also no they are not. I just can not use words to describe the feelings I get towards my satisfaction between the two speakers. They are very close in my listening experience, but differ in price. Like everyone else in the world, everyone likes a good deal, and Axiom is a great deal in the way they sound and in the way they are built, that is why I say stop and give them a try they might persuade you not to look at the label, but go with what your ear is saying. This is why I came to the conclusion that they sound fantastic and that is what it is all about! My original attention was not to slam the Paradigm Signatures S8, but to say that Axiom made a believer out of me, so much so that I put them in my TV room, my bedroom, and in my garage. Am I happy, the TV Room Rocks big time, but I am still waiting to hear what the potential is in my bedroom the EP350 was dead on arrival (DOA). Like I said the in-wall speakers are truly unbelievable, but it is hard to make a judgment call on these speakers, especially after being downstairs in the TV room with all that horsepower and then coming upstairs to a room that’s missing its sub. A gentlemen name Brent is taking care of me as I write this. I will let you know what I think after everything’s in place and working.

Chuck. I didn't take your post as a slam against the Sigs, nor was I putting them down. I just did what comes natural to me (insert rollie eyes here) write the first thing I thought.

I feel lucky that I ended up with M80s. I didn't audition as extensively as some people do. I just happened to be within driving distance of Axiom and had an opportunity to audition the entire line. Good reviews put them on my list, proximity put them at the top, the clean sound made them a buy.

I have no doubt that the Sigs sound better, and I would like to be able to compare the M80s to other speakers at some point to satisfy my curiosity. I wonder if the difference would be like that between the M60 and M80. For $300 the M80s sound a lot better than the M60 to me: a steal. For $1000 hmm. For $2000, not for me. Its all relative. If I had the money to affort something like the sigs, maybe I would feel differently.

Sorry if I offended.

Fred

Hello Fred,

First off you did not offend me what so ever. I replied in hopes to better clarify my first E-mail. I too just quickly snapped out an email and felt afterwards that I did not explain myself to well. The price delta between the two speakers in my “ears” doesn’t justify the extra monies. But hey that’s me. I just wanted everyone to know how happy the Axiom speakers made me.

Again, Fred there was no feeling of you ever offending me at anytime, just wanted to explain myself better.

Best Regards,

Chuck

Hey Chuck, I think i am going to be in Pasadena in a couple of week's time. Would it be possible to check out your M80s and EP500? (with VP150 and QS8s ofcourse) I have M60s and EP350 and I am quite happy with them, just want to see how different the two sound. I know speakers sound different in different rooms but I would still like to give it a try.
