You're luckey to be so close to the Smithsonian! The Natural History Museum has the most amazing fossil collection I have ever seen. Very nicely organized.
I would love to take my son. He's still big into dinosaurs. Not sure if a 10 hour drive is quite worth it though.
I'm looking forward to pics of the face tatoo.

I was going to highly recommend Dinosaur National Monument--until I remembered they'd closed the visitors' center. I remember going there as an older child, and being absolutely fascinated. I love natural history museums and the like. LA has a great one, too, and there's always The The Tar Tar Pits for those of us lucky enough to live on this coast.

And I didn't know he was a big fan of The The, either.

There are lots of cool places to visit if you have the time and the money. Dinosaur National monument is in Utah isn't it? I visited there in the late 70s.

Colorado, I believe.
The The Tar Tar Pits actually is The La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles. Cool museum, complete with a tar lake in the middle of LA! Right near the Petersen Automotive Museum, which is also worth a visit.

Hmm. Just looked at my avatar more closely and saw a pair of boobs under the mouth. This would make a good Rorschach ink blot. Dude, this is a family forum. Put some pasties on!
