I'm sure this has been discussed before, but searching has turned up no results...I think it (the search feature) is broken.
My EP500 never turns off, I would assume it "goes to sleep"...but I have no evidence of that happening. I can also hear a very slight humming noise when its not in use. I don't think its any sort of ground loop problem...
This normal? Is not turning off going to shorten my amp's life?
Another observation. I had replace the driver in my EP500 due to a portion of the "surround" coming unglued. The new driver has a significantly smaller magnet on it? Does that matter? It seems to sound the same to my ears.

I would check for the ground loop first as it does show up so many times and from the widest assortment of equipment. The good news is it is usually easily fixed.

My 600 is always on. My 350v3's have an auto sensing mode.

The 500's are always on, if there is a slight hum it is probably do to some type of interference as mentioned before.

The humming is most likely a ground loop. Did you loosen up the ground screw at the back of the 500? Also, when did you back it? Mine does not have an auto-off; just the 12V trigger.

not sure about the magnet differences... kinda odd.
I had 2 subs at one point, and have a replacement driver now.. all three appeared to be the same

With the EP600 I have in our theater setup there was always a humm, Its not that bad so I never really played around with it to try and fix it, I never thought to try the chassis ground screw. I went and unscrwed it a couple turns and now the hum is completely gone! thanks for reminding me of this feature!
