This is a bit of a trend on the interwebs lately and I've enjoyed reading my friends' contributions, so I thought I'd bring it to my online home. All you need to do to participate is share 25 random things about yourself, like I'm about to do. - I think it's silly that Roman numerals are still in use.
- We have some three-way switches in the house. If the light attached to a pair of these switches is off and both switches are not down (the typical off position), I will switch them down.
- Kids in grade school called me "Mr. Technical" because I had a habit of correcting their grammar.
- After I rescued a bird that had flown into the classroom and slammed into a window -- and freaked out a bunch of students -- my 7th grade English teacher (Mrs. Calender) told me I'm the kind of person that's great to have around in an emergency. It's one of the best compliments I've ever received.
- I've never had a job (other than odd jobs) that didn't have something to do with computers.
- I'll eat almost anything at least once. Even insects, as long as they're dead and someone else eats one first.
- I've thrown up on the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge. (Don't finish off a night of drinking with a double of Rumple Minze. No, I wasn't driving.)
- My high school German teacher taught me how to install sprinklers and work with PVC pipe.
- I've been electrocuted more times than I can count. I find it perversely enjoyable, even though I try to avoid it.
- I'm a complete wimp about static shocks. If I know I'm charged and need to touch something metal, I'll hesitate a bit before touching it.
- I lived in Venezuela for 4 months when I was 8 and spoke fluent Spanish by the time I left.
- I once told a friend (while both of us were drunk) that if I were gay I'd want to date him.
- I get along better with my in-laws than almost every other married person I know.
- I've broken my nose, left arm, left wrist, and collar bone. The last came with a concussion.
- I bit through my lower lip after landing on my brother in a pool after an attempted cannonball revenge.
- I haven't had to pay to have a cell phone since 2000.
- My teeth were extremely crooked until I got braces in 2000. They came off a month before my wedding.
- I think squirrels are cute until they're within a 10 foot radius of me.
- In the early 90s, I participated in illegal activities involving computers and modems that one of my friends got in trouble with the FBI over.
- I've plucked stray gray hairs, but when they start coming in force, I'll go gray-cefully.
- I used to shave off my goatte before visiting my grandmother because I knew she disapproved of it.
- When we were little kids, I convinced my younger sister that dry dog poop was chocolate, and she tasted it.
- I believe my home town was a fantastic place to grow up in, and I regret that my children won't have the same freedom to roam that I had.
- I've never been in a fight.
- I married the first girl who kissed me.

1. I find articles about memes more interesting than the memes themselves: http://www.slate.com/id/2211068

When we were little kids, I convinced my younger sister that dry dog poop was chocolate, and she tasted it. Cruel and unusually hilarious.

What he didn't mention is that I see his sister for her ongoing battle with coprophagia.
Wait, I think I just violated confidentiality. Nevermind!

If that was the only thing being violated here, it would be better.
Peter, sorry about the squirrel thing.
