I just noticed yesterday that Denon is offering a free blu-ray player with some of their receivers. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/re...&pf_rd_i=507846You may be able to find a better price since it isn't just offered through amazon. If you are looking for a receiver and still don't have blu-ray it may be a very good time for you. - Nick

oh great, help me spend my money. I need a new receiver and have been looking at staying with Denon, my 2805 has been great. I may have to see if this offer works at the online etailers that sale refurbished Denon's.

the info says "Applies only to purchases made from Amazon.com. Does not apply to purchases made from other merchants on the Amazon.com website."

dang, would be a good deal if you could get a refurbished from dakmart as well. I've heard the first part of April, Denon will be announcing some new models. Maybe I better wait, don't want to get an outdated 3808.

I heard a 3810 might be right around the corner, but I'm sure the price might be more, could just be a rumor.

I too am awaiting the new news on the three new Denon models. Between my calling Axiom earlier today and being told my speakers were 'scheduled' to ship today (no email yet), and new Denon's very soon, I am excited. I sure hope they give pricing info too. I don't know if I will want to spend a lot more than the current 3808 price, but at least it would feel good to make an informed decision. I heard we'll know in < 2 weeks.

Just a few 'hints'. Like maybe, wink, wink, 9.1 upper fronts. I don't think so bummer, bummer, on 2 or 3 independent sub outs (wah). That they will have more bells and whistles, rather than more power. This was gleaned from reading between the lines of several posts, where the guy 'really could not say'.
I cannot wait. :o)

And what really sucks is that by the time you'll get the new Denon figured out to it's full potential it will be outdated by a new and improved model with even more bells and whistles ... seems to be the norm with AV stuff.
It never ends.

that is what I hate Rick. Although, my 2805 has been one rock solid receiver, it will serve me well up with my Panny Plasma, just need to talk the wife into the Accent owners club speakers. Wow, Dave, that is one long thread. I started about 20 pages before the end and my head is already spinning. How are some getting the new 3808's cheaper from 6ave, looks to be list to me on their website? Maybe they offer deals from time to time? I see Dakmart has a decent price for a refurbished, fully Denon inspected with 1 year warranty unit.

Randy have you not been following all the talk on the 3808 on here? You CALL 6ave and mention you are an AVS forum member and ask about the special forum member pricing. Should be $1099 last time I saw anyone post about a price.

Like I mentioned above it is not just amazon running the free blu ray deal. I know that audioholics is doing it as well (although it is probably more expensive than at amazon though). I'm guessing that as long as the retailer stocks both the denon blu ray player and receivers then they offer the deal since it seems to be though denon. So maybe you can get it through 6thave and get a really good deal.

I'm sure the 3808 will drop in price once Denon puts their new line out. It might be worth waiting a couple months.
