Thanks John. I figured it was something like that. Axiom usually has a reason when they put something in their specs.
I really need to buy this book soon.

Well, I need more books in my bookshelf so it works better as a sound diffusor, but maybe john could just stand in my room and recite from the book??

I decided to not go for the EP350 v3. I ended up going for the Epik Sentinel sub and spent more then my budget. Not sure which subs out there the Epik compares with but i'm getting it on either the 7th or the 8th next week. I figured i needed some more power.

Congratulations on the purchase. I hope you'll stick around to give your impressions of the Epik. I've heard the name mentioned, but I don't really know much about them.

Epik is another ID company with great product and service from what I have heard. They are on the same scale as Elemental Designs. Many times you see eD, Epik, SVS, Hsu mentioned as the best bang for the buck subs out there.
Looking at the specs and the flatness of the FR, I would say there isn't much out there right now that is close to the performance for that price, except maybe the MFW-15. The EP350 or EP500 would also be in the same league if they had better low end extension, if the specs for the Sentinel are accurate at ~18hz.
The SVS PB12-nsd is about the same low FR and price but the graphs I have seen are not that flat. I wonder how the dip from the mid 20hz to mid 50hz range will play out, possibly manifest itself as that thump I disliked about the PB12-nsd.
Please let us know your impressions of the Sentinel.

the FR on the sentinel seems pretty flat than dips once you get under 20hz unlike the PB12 nsd. the svs is 350 watts while the sentinel is 600 watts and doesn't use a bash amp. Wonder if the dip is a concern i should worry about or not. never heard an actual true sub before so i doubt i'll hear anything wrong or whatnot.

It all changes when you put them in a room, every room is different, and every placement brings about different results in FR. Multiple subs placed around the room is the best option, if you can afford it.

I will be placing it to the left of the couch which is about three feet from the left wall in the room. the side surround is against the wall on a stand and the sub will be in front of the stand. I talk with Chad from Epik today and he said the Sentinel will go down to 14 or 15hz in room. That's what frequency response he gets inside. Pretty sweet. The FR on Epik's page is an outside freq resp not indoors. I would get two of them but only have room for one. wouldn't mind one on each side of the couch though but the right side is the walkway to the front door.
