I would like to know what type of aluminum alloy is used in the production process of your speaker cones as well as the finish application.
Example, Aluminum Alloy - 6063 T5
Example, Finish - AA - M10C22A42

Thanks,

Jim / CAV104

Interesting question.....

I would gather that this is your area of expertise? Could you provide some technical education for us on the differences, benefits and general thoughts?

Thanks for the education!

After twenty years in the industry I certainly hope that I have aquired and retained enough knowledge to continue through the next twenty years.

I am a project manager with a commercial glazing firm (a large aluminum and glass company) that provides the aluminum and glass skin you see everyday on those multi story structures often refered to as office buildings.

These structures incorporate the use of extruded aluminum members as well as sheet aluminum and structural aluminum alloys.

It would require weeks if not months to educate you as to what the differences and benifits of aluminum are. Therefore the best way to provide you and others who are interested with the technical data you have requested is to visit the following web sites. Please note that these web sites are used on a daily basis for reference by all entities involved in the aluminum industry.

1 - The Aluminum Association, Inc.
http://www.aluminum.org
2 - The Aluminum Association of Canada
http://www.aia.aluminum.qc.ca/english

A for my general thoughts, I think the use of an aluminum alloy in the production of speakers is a great concept. After all it not only sounds great but at the end of the speakers life it can be recycled into aircraft, furniture, and mabe even speaker cones.

I hope this information is helpful.

Thanks,

Jim / CAV104

But enough about you.....

So you were asking simply for information, not to discuss the pros and cons of the actual material.

The links were informative.
