Wow, not to sound like a Denon mark - never having owned one - but they've really knocked it out of the park in my mind.

Check out the new model announcement.

My first impression is significantly more for less at every price point.

Thoughts?

Sweet. The 3310 is now at the top of my gotta-try-that list. I'm eager to hear what the differences are from the 3808.

Thanks for the info!

The 3310 is the 28XX, the 4310 is the new 38XX series or so I have read here and there.

It's only a logical transition from their manuals being really confusing to the actual models themselves being really confusing.

They'll be "confusing-up" their website soon, and product photos will only feature the sides of the componants.

Yeah, they probably realized their manuals were linked to an incorrect model number (hence the confusion). To avoid reprinting, they are changing the model numbers to fit the manuals.

I bet it is so they an charge more $$$.

The 4xxx series are more expensive than the 3xxx series, so the new "3810" listed as 4xxx can be sold for $2100 or so.

Hmmmmm...is anyone concerned about the new avr models made in China? I know problems from the current 1909 and below have been somewhat unreliable. I am interested in the 2310 which is made in China....Lee

Don't expect any improvements in the manuals. Just compare the press release with the Denon website and see the confusion already brewing. From just a cursory review, there are contradictions in the capabilities of the 4310 re (1) video processing, (2) HD Radio, and (3) Audyssey format - at a minimum. Not that anyone cares about those...right? But the pricing does confirm that that for whatever reason, the 3808 is now the 4310, etc - unless the price of the 4000 series dropped by 1/3!
