I’m know this type of thread has been done already but I’m tossing it out there in hopes of generating some ideas of old TV shows I’ve forgotten about but might like to see again or get for my father who‘s rediscovering some of these old shows. And also where to find them. Top of my list is “It Takes a Thief (TV).” I can’t find it in any of the normal retail places but IMDb has an ad from JSDVDCollections.com saying they sell it. Anyone ever order from them? Are they legit? How was the Quality of what you got? I’m also looking to get “Logan’s Run (TV).” The only place I can find even part of it is Amazon’s Video on demand. Anyone ever use this, if so how’s the quality? Finially one I would like to but can’t find anywhere is Barbary Coast I don’t know why but I just remember loving that show. Sort of reminded me of the “Wild Wild West” which is also somewhere on my “to get” list.

I would reccomend starting at tvshowsondvd It's a BS-free site and quite complete on what's available, and if the release sucks or not. I used to comparison shop between 3 or 4 online stores, but anymore I just use Amazon or netflix. Don't overlook the BBC for fresh tv either. Some recent gems I've found: My Hero My Boys and Dead like me Just realised you said old- those 3 "gems" aren't old, but they're still good.

Best of Abbott and Costello(Universal). Classic B&W comedy in volume sets of their movies...many of their movies outgrossed $$ the Academy Award winners of their time. Fun to watch now and then if you like vaudeville type comedy, the movie collections are good, imho, but their TV variety show was lacking(only 2 yr run). I bought the first 3 seasons of the original Perry Mason series, which is very entertaining, nostalgic(cars, clothes, telephone booths on every st. corner, answering services ect). This show was groundbreaking back in it's day and paved the road for most other shows that followed in it's genre. The first 3 seasons are the best of the 7(?) seasons that PM ran for....great acting, nostalgia, entertaining stories(albeit a tad far fetched), with lots of early appearances of many future stars make for some great entertainment.

Original Mission Impossible series is pretty good(long before Tom Cruise ruined the franchise), seasons 2 and 3 are usually reguarded as the best seasons and has 5.1 surround.

Pinky and the Brain, and Airwolf.

I love the original “Mission Impossible.” cool thing is that it’s been so long since I’ve seen them I hardly remember any of the episodes so it’s like seeing them again for the first time. I have most of them on DVD but loaned them to my father so haven’t watched them yet. I also have all of the seasons of “Combat!” dad also has those so I haven’t seen any of them. Pinky and the Brain, and Airwolf.
Never saw “Airwolf.” Must have been on in the 80s when I was overseas. I’ll have to look that one up.

I remember watching some of the old Don Knotts movies when I grew up(?). Wouldn't mind seeing the Ghost and Mr Chicken, Shakiest Gun in the West, The Reluctant Astronaut again Lol! I know Amazon has them on DVD...I wonder if we'll see them on BD anytime?

I'd like to see some old episodes of the Rifleman again.
