Is there anywhere left that has a good SACD selection? Even places like Amazon don't seem to have as much anymore, or if they do they are twice the price of a regular CD.

Out of curiosity, what SACD players would you all recommend in the $200-$300 range. Obviously not new models, but which models going back several years are worth looking into? Or is there really nothing worth noting in such a price range? Thanks!

The Oppo 980h is perfect and is less than 200$ from Oppo themselves (could be cheaper from another source). If you want better DVD upconvertion, the other Oppo models are better, but more expensive.

If you're looking for an Oppo, I would suggest looking around on eBay because I would imagine there are quite a few people selling their Oppo 980's etc. and upgrading to the BDP-83.

Wheelz, excellent advice. I see they are on ebay (used) for roughly $100-$120US. Thanks for the pointer.

Unfortunately, now I have to really think about this. I have a PS3, but it is the 40gb version that does not support SACD (to the best of my knowledge, perhaps someone knows a hack?). Has anyone on this forum compared the upconversion capabilities of the Oppo to PS3 on SD DVD's and regular CDs? If it is better than the PS3, I would be very tempted.

I have the 980 and it is not better in SQ than the PS3, but it has more options for cropping and zooming. The 981, from what I have heard, is somewhere between the 980 and the 983 for upconversion.
