I love my Axiom m80's and I am curious if any of you have found car audio speakers that have the same sound as Axioms's?

"Same" is damn hard to say, as the acoustics of the two are in such different settings - cabinet in a room v. door panel in a car with road noise. But, as far as good products, priced fairly, and at the cutting edge of design, look at CDT Audio. They build speakers for other companies mainly, but you can get their speakers at a few authorized Internet dealers. I had the Classics and they blew away my Boston Acoustics in terms of sound quality. Then I upgraded to the Euro Sport series (carbon fiber driver) and welcomed another great increase in performance. You can tell the mindset of the company by looking at the cross-over upgrades available - many of the cross over networks cost more than the speakers.
Warning - they are not flashy, so if you want chrome and bling, not for you. And they do like gobs of powers, so figure on a new JL Audio (or such) amp with at least 75 real watts to make a pair of components sing.Best car audio speakers I have owned, and I have owned many, and auditioned many more.
If you want subs or amps, I can only recommend JL Audio, as my high-end Alpine excursions have been disappointing. On the other hand, for a head unit, I strongly recommend Alpine over all others.
There goes my two cents...

I have 3 pairs of focals ranging from entry level to top-o-the line and they all have the basic axiom "vibe". They're a neutral,"honest" sounding speaker. I heard Diamond hex series a few yrs ago and they were similar. I've heard lots of good things about the CDT's as well.

I've heard CDT's years ago I believe the HD or the classic series and they sounded really nice but from what I remember they have a more laid back sound. I've had Focal's before and you are right those might fit the bill. So many options I tell ya

I couldn't agree with that more. For speakers, I don't know anymore. So dam many new players out now, I would have to do some serious research. I do know that 9 times out of ten, folks do not take the time they should with dynamat. I’d done nothing but wrap the cab with that stuff and had a dramatic improvement in SQ without changing any speakers or electronics. People don’t do it because it’s a pain in the ass.

Good point. I deadened my Expedition and the sound improvement was dramatic. I used Brown Bread Extreme, at bit cheaper than dynamat. And yes, it is a pain as a DIY project - but big return on the investment.

Currently i am using Image dynamic car speakers as my mains centre and two 12 inch subs which sound great and the high end is fantastic as well the components are not cheap . im using the CTX 65CS with dual 6's http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/products.php?Family_Id=1
