Wonderful, Cam! That is a great batch of pictures, and looks like a really fun event. Given you recent history with pictures, though, I was a little surprised and disappointed to not see Teri sprawled across the hood of a TR6 or something.

Hey! Cam made the Victoria British Car Club web site lead photo for the event! http://www.victoriabritishcarclub.ca/Brits2009.htmlAlso wanted to put in a plug for my dear friend John, who is lovingly and completely restoring a 1954 MGTF. He has been an inspiration and mentor to me in many ways, but I can only hope to enjoy his journey, not follow it.

Hey!
Cam made the Victoria British Car Club web site lead photo for the event! Our good friend Vally Alley, took that photograph and I thought it was for himself; rather surprising .

I will enjoy following it's progress. As you may know, back in the day, I was an MGB owner. The 1971 model below was my second one. My first was a 1965 model.

Hi Cam, Thanks for posting the photos it looked like a lot of fun. My late wife had a MGB very similar to Jack's, it was blue and had 3 windshield wipers. Have you ever come down to the British Car Day at Bronte Creek? It's hosted by the Toronto Triumph club and this is their 26th annual event. It features about 1,000 Brit cars. This year it's on Sunday Sept. 20th. More info can be found here: http://www.torontotriumph.com/BCD/

250 British cars? That place is one big oil slick after they leave.
I kid, I kid.

Don't forget the can of Dry-n-go for the lucas electrics. Q. Why do the Brits drink warm beer? A. Because they use lucas electronics in their refridgerators.

Q. Why do Fiat's have a rear defrost?
A. To keep your hands warm when you push it.

Nice Pics. Looks like a fun day. They have a British Car show in my area as well, just across the river. It's not a huge show but it's claim to fame is that it takes place on the sight of where the first Canadian automobile owner took the first ride. Quote from a historical archive. "In 1866, Father G.A. Belcourt shocked his Rustico parishioners by driving a horseless carriage through their St. Jean Baptiste Day picnic."Church records also indicate that he was perhaps the first Canadian to have an automobile crash on that very day when it accelerated beyond his control. After which he gave up on the idea of cars, sold it and was quoted as saying something roughly along the lines of 'Steam power is a great way to run a log splitter but will never replace the horse as a means of transportation.' Ironically, PEI was the first province to ban 'horseless carriages' in 1908 as a danger to horse traffic and a general agitation. If you are interested in automotive history, you will probably get a few chuckles from the complete article describing the arrival, subsequent ban, and eventual adoption of the automobile in this area. It explores how the entirely rural nature of the province of the time had an effect on public views making the ban almost completely unanimous. My favorite quote from a naysayer..... "One man from New Annan wrote to the Island Farmer labelling those now in favor of autos, "Those Judas Iscariots and Simon Peters." Island Meets Auto .

Oh, and I believe he was later quoted as saying "Hey, You kids get off my lawn!"
