Does your coax cable have the standard connector that you would run to the back of your TV? If so you can use this:

Coax cable works fine for a sub cable

Sean not only is it just okay but it makes excellent cabling for the sub, all of our in-wall sub wiring is RG6 coax terminated with wall plated 'F' connectors.

Whenever we did our room I bought a 1000' spool of Tributaries RG6 and used it specifically for all of the audio/video cabling except the HDMI, speaker and Cat5 runs.

Welcome raoshree, that's a heck of a nice system and hopefully you'll be very happy with the new digs!

Sean, note that coaxial is the generic term that applies to nearly all audio interconnecting cables. Regardless of the specific use to which it's being put(e.g., the seller might label it a "subwoofer cable")it's still a coaxial cable.

Thanks JohnK. For some reason I had it in my head the coaxial cable is only for the tv signal stuff. . .but maybe I'm just thinking of that specific connection?
