I donate all of my old stuff to "Habitat for Humanity". I never thought of a private school (great idea), and donating something to a church just sounds odd; to me it should be the other way around.
Shutting up now!

A lot of our local churches have a school attached/associated with them: 2 Catholic w/ grade school, 1 Catholic w/ high school, 1 Baptist w/ k-12.
Habitat is a great outlet as well as GoodWill, etc.

Never thought about Habitat for electronics donations - good idea. I have donated my old PCs to schools in the past.

I like the donate thing. A lot of Boys and Girls Clubs and such are trying to put in movie rooms for cheap. I volunteered my time at one particular club to help with the setup because I liked how they were going to run it. The AV room for movies and video games was a reward area for those kids who participated regularly in physical activities. No exercise, no access.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea for companies like Sony, Samsung, Panasonic ect to promote their Blu Ray players by asking people to bring in their older(working) players for a small discount($5-25 depending on new purchase), then sending sending the used unit to some type of charity or less fortunate people here or abroad.
I've seen stores like Bass Pro do this with fishing reels at their spring show, it's a great idea and a win-win for everyone.
