If I were truly plastered, could I do this?

Not sure, but They only fit onto one of the metal posts so that prevents you from hooking it up incorrectly.
Out of curiosity, Why do you need to know the polarity?

long story...
months ago my cat jumped on top of one of my M60s, knocked it over and the magnet dislodged from the tweeter. I slapped it back on, but there was definite damage to the tweeter, hence the sound. I wrote to Axiom figuring that with as much money as I had spent (M60s, M80s, EP500, M22s, QS8s, Algonquins, and M3s) that perhaps I would get a new tweeter sent. I was told it would cost me $40 for a tweeter. I didn't do anything about it at the time, because I really didn't have the extra cash to get the replacement. anywho, I recently decided it was time to replace the tweeter, so I purchased two Usher soft dome tweeters to replace the damaged one and the other side as well. I received the new tweeters today and started to install them when I came across this issue and thought I might get an answer from the forum, or Google. The Google search found info about people reversing tweeter polarity to reduce high Hz. Apparently, people purposely reverse tweeter polarity depending on the results.

That Pesky Cat!
So you are putting tweeters in the speakers other than the axiom built ones? It seems to be like paying the $40 would be the best alternative. You paid good money for your speakers, whats another $40? I think the problem is that the damage was not caused by "normal usage". That being said, you have obviously been a good customer, and I could see it being a nice thing for Axiom to do to send you one for free (maybe have you pay the shipping?
Out of curiosity how much did you have to spend for the replacement tweeters you decided on?

mullhead, Did those two tweeters cost less than one $40 Axiom replacement? The crossover in the M60 is designed specifically for each of the drivers in the cabinet, so changing out the tweeter for a different type altogether will likely impact your listening experience negatively. Now that you've been warned, you might as well try it out since you've already got them. Let us know how they sound.

With that $40 charge I bet most of it would be to cover shipping cost. I can't see it being cheap to send one out.
