1) Boston Cherry with black grilles

2) No regrets

3) Right now I want a pair of M2's for rear channel speakers. Ideally I'd like M60 fronts, a VP150, 2 QS8's, 2 M22's for rears. I also want an outlaw 7x200 watt power amp.

1. Black

2. Gloss black, which may ultimately happen

3. I've had SEVERE upgraditis in the last year, but it's in remission for the time being after upgrading my display (front projector, baby!). Our new room is incompatible with 7.1, which is a good thing because it closes the door on the sick cost to go the separates route. I'll be cured for good once I get a new sub, but it's so low on the priority list I'm not feeling an itch as of right now.

  1. I have Boston Cherry M22s and VP100.
  2. If I were ordering today, I'd get Buffalo Oak on the M22s and Charcoal Smoke on the VP100 so they'd match my furniture and TV better.
  3. I want to replace my Onkyo TX-DS575 with a better receiver with more inputs. My TV has only 1 s-video in, I have 2 s-video devices, and my receiver doesn't have any s-video inputs. In the speaker department, I'd like to replace my Cambridge Soundworks surround speakers with QS4s. (QS8s are too big for the spot the surrounds are mounted.) When i comes to upgrades, I'm a pretty patient man, so I can wait until there's more money to throw around.

1) Boston Cherry.

2) Only if the custom finishes didnt cost extra.

3) I would classify my DVD changer, LDP and VCR as horrible, but I'm in no hurry to replace them. So, I would have to say no.

1- boston cherry

2- yes, even though the boston cherry looks really nice, I would get the warm cherrywood.

3- yes! my listening position is not suited for floorstanders at all, but i still want the M60's. Either have two sets of speakers in my room (actually it would be 3, I have an old pair of acoustic research speakers), or lend them to my parents for watching movies and tv (I live in the same house, so I'd still get use out of them). I also would like the QS8's... and a VP150... and maybe a matching adive rava to ballance the setup. I always think about upgrading my amp too, a Kenwood V-405. I really can't complain at all about the quality or features, it works nicely actually.. but I can't help but feel that its not as good as it should be for the Axioms.

Anyways, I need to save money now, so probably none of those upgrades will come any time soon.

1 What finish do you have on your axioms?

2 If you could, would you choose a different finish?

3 Do you have upgraditis? What do you think will cure your upgraditis?

1 Black Oak

2 When I ordered my m60s I got one boston cherry and one beech. A humorous slip up at the factory. After sending them both back I got two black oaks. So having seen those three Id say I really liked the cherry, but the wife said black. What can I say, they could be pink for all I care as long as they sound good and she lets me have them.

3 Major upgraditis, and Im afraid its contagious. Everyone that comes and checks out my HT gets it too. I have a 55 inch Mitz wide screen, Yamaha 1400, M60s, VP150, QS-8s and SVS 20-39. I just know if I could get a pair of M2s for the rears and another pair of M2s for the presence in front that I could curb my appetite for a 65 inch Mitz...pretty sure anyways.

1 What finish do you have on your axioms?
Don't have any, will be getting them early next year.

2 If you could, would you choose a different finish?
I would like to veneer them.

3 Do you have upgraditis? What do you think will cure your upgraditis?
My current stereo system (Crown IC150 pre-amp, Crown D150 power amp) was purchased around 1976 so I guess the answer is 'no' I tend to plan for what I wneed (or want) and then purchase. Home theatre however seems to be something that always involves change.

I don't intend to replace the Axioms I get as I'm no longer young and what I buy will last as long as I do

Any future home plans involve down sizing, what we currently have is far to big for the both of us. The only area of growth might be if I decide that I want to go from 6.1 to 7.1 but I hope to have that all straightened out before I purchase

1. They haven't arrived yet, but when they do they'll be black Oak to match every other piece of HT equipment I have. My room looks like a black hole.

2. I don't think so, though I find several other finishes very attractive. Kudos to Axiom for providing so many choices. I'm beginning to think this is a very exceptional, and unfortunately rare company. Every experience with them so far (ordering, a couple of phone calls, and this forum) has been eye-openingly pleasant.

3. BIG TIME! That's obvious since I just ordered the 22ti's and a VP150. I'm sitting here at this dumb computer after 4 hours of sleep because, after waking for the obligatory trip to the head, I couldn't get back to sleep for thinking about the HSU STF-2. If I don't pull the trigger on that soon, I may NEVER get any sleep. Upgraditis is a horrible condition. AAARRRGGGHHH!

Out of interest, Buffalo Oak, Warm Cherrywood, and Natural Maple are waayyy ahead of the rest of the finishes. Charcoal Smoke is gaining headway as well. Interesting!

what would be nice is if you click on the finish and a speaker would come up in that finish. right now it is just a blank pop-up with that finish, but no speaker.

just a thought

For amie and joe to photograph every speaker in every finish would be quite a task!

Which is precisely why I'm offering to do the photography for them! Amie, just send me each of your speaker and sub models in each of the available finishes and I'll take some nice professional photos of them. It would be a good idea to stagger the shipments so I'm not overloaded with boxes, though.

Hey, im a budding photographer too ya know! i think it would be alot cheaper for them to hire someone to do it rather then send me boxes of speakers to and from hawaii. of course, i would be O.K. with them just sending to me and not having to pay to send them back too
