I'd leave Fenway alone, for sure. And Wrigley.
I'll be at Safeco Field in Seattle to see the Mariners and the Tigers on Sunday. With my son (13). "13" is his age, not his name. He was born before Olivia Wilde's character on "House". And I wouldn't name a boy after her.
Oooh, shiny! ...

Heckle Johnny Damon for me. Leaving the Red Sox for the Yankees and their slightly larger pile of cash, the bum!

Yeah, I was never a fan of his. Safeco is a really fun, cool and interesting place to attend a game. C'mon!

Well I don't follow baseball, haven't since I was a "Junior Angel" when I was in little league and got cheaper tickets to the Angels in Anahiem.
But my Step Father ...... He has had the same 4 seats/season tickets to the Dodgers since, I think he said 1963, when he moved to southern cal. He already has a grave stone next to his first wife, that I've seen and it has a Dodgers emblem embedded into the grave stone. He's 88 now.
Now that's a fan and dedication!

Tom, wish I were there. One day we'll make it out to the west coast again. Gotta show my son the redwoods and sequoias.
The earlier posts on ballparks has made me try to remember the stadiums I've been in:
1989: Riverfront Stadium, Cincinnati Reds 1990: Wrigley Field, Chicago Cubs 1993: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore Orioles 1995: Fenway Park, Boston Red Sox 1999: Turner Field, Atlanta Braves
It's been a while. Maybe I can raid my retirement fund for some ticket money and go again.

Another victory for Halladay tonight...in the rain no less. He was up 8-1 and gave up one in the 8th to make it 8-2. You could tell he was upset afterwards that he gave up the extra run, and probably that he wasn't finishing the game as well. The pen tried to blow it in the 9th, but the Phils win 8-6.
25 wins for Roy this year. Book it!

Halladay is a beast. I'm totally on-board with that 25 wins prediction.
Felix Hernandez pitched a complete game last night, too. 0 earned runs. And Cliff Lee is supposed to be back next weekend. M's are 9-7 without Lee and Bedard even though they're hitting about .208.
OTOH, the Orioles are 2-14 and have Red Sox - Yankees - Red Sox - Yankees - Twins for their next 16 games. Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

The Red Sox may not be much for them to fear, sadly. So far, Boston's new "pitching and defense" plan is not working out so well. However, the last two games have been wins - walk-off, dramatic wins.

Mark, this does not let you off the hook for those Fenway seats you promised me.

At the risk of inciting JP, Bob and others...
I hate the effing Red Sox.
$157 million for Adrian Gonzalez and $142 million for Carl Crawford. THIS WEEK?!?!
I don't think Theo Epstein is any kind of genius; he just has budget to do whatever he wants.
Sure, I'm bitter. The Mariners lost 100 games this year and will be lucky to improve next year. But, jeezus. How can Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Seattle, Kansas City, etc. hope to compete with NY and Boston?
