I know this is not optimal but because of kids/wife/clutter I want to put these under the window seats to the sides of the tv. This would also mean putting them on their sides.

Of course I would do cabinet cut-outs and cover with speaker cloth but are there any suggestions on how best to do this?

i.e. push them to front of cabinet? center them? push to back? lay on bottom? prop off the bottom?

Keep in mind that the rear ports in the m60's need some breathing room. Also, I think placing them on the sides would make them sound very strange. Is there any way at all around this?

Also, if you have any pictures it would help.

Not a great idea as David mentions. Flipping them on the sides would defeat the whole purpose of the design of a vertical speaker. The horizontal dispersion of the tweeters would suddenly be vertical. Also, you want your tweeters as close to ear level as possible. In addition, enclosing the ports would sacrifice the low frequencies that need to be filtered into the room.

ps: most of us have kids, wifes, and clutter. smile

why not get 3 vp-180's if you want to put them on their side? you would need a pretty darn big room for this though.......

I assume you mean VP150's???

Well, looks like the thing to do is move the M60's to the garage and set some M3's or M22's on the shelves, to the left/right of the window seats. At least in the garage I can maybe get some real use out of them.

Is there room for the m60's on the sides of your entertainment center?

There's no room, sides are window seats which then butt right up to the side wall cabinets. I think just putting in the M3's will be the trick. I'm just going to have a booming garage now wink
