I was hoping the Ultimate Close Out Sale might put this door into my price range, but it wasn't meant to be. I was told over the phone that the original price is $3595, and the sale price is $2157. Unfortunately, the STC 44 doors are sold out already, as they probably would have been a lot closer to my price range.

Refer to my suggestions on how to route grove into, and fill the edge of a door with felt back in your "lair" thread. That'll get you plenty of sound proofing.
Solid core fire doors aren't cheap, but still much cheaper than those things.

Thanks for that info Chris. My front door is that worst place for sound leakage from my house and also the closest point to an adjacent house.

Why is it that I can't spell groove? Must be my aversion to analog sources.
