I just read that Star Wars is getting another round of sound and video "enhancements" and coming out on Blu Ray in 2011. Then, starting in 2012, they will be re-released in theaters (in order 1-6) in a 3D version. One movie a year until 2017 when ROTJ finishes up. Fun fun....

Then they can release those on blu-ray. Which will be obsolete by then, but Lucas will avoid releasing it on the new format for about 4 years, then re-release to the theatres with enhanced holo3D tech for 6 years, then release on the new format...

Great. All I need is Jar Jar's tongue shooting out of the screen at my face. Or his ears whenever he turns. George Lucas must retire.

I would think that by now it would be all be released on blu-ray, with perhaps DVD as an extra disk.

I hear ya on the yawn... My post was more of a "here we go again"... Dip dip dippity dip... Next thing you know, there will be 3 more version on Blu-Ray. The super duper extended special edition, and then the 3D version, and then the super duper extended special edition 3D version...

Naw, Lucas likes destroying anything he's done before. There's a very interesting article out there about why and how there is no original of Star Wars any more.

7, 8 & 9 - the ones where Luke goes to the dark side, Leia becomes a jedi and saves him. Yeah, that trilogy will be the one to rule them all...

In re: 3D and blu ray. I say, good. I like choices. Like to choice to see them in theaters again (maybe with my kids, who might enjoy the same thrill as seeing these movies in the theater) or not. I also like the option of buying the films with better resolution, etc.

You can always say no to George.

Sorry couldn't resist...

7 - Luke marries his sister and they have quadruplet retards, each with a higher measure of force than all jedi combined.

8 - Darth Vader's other sons and daughters are discovered (busy little devil) and they wage war against the 4 retards and their progeny.

9 - The big bang reverses and the entire creation gets eaten alive by a gigantic black hole. Edit: taking George Lucas with it and the end of the Star Wars saga.

Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back were so good. Jedi was decent. When they went back and made Greedo shoot first it all just started to unravel.
