I tried searching the forums but I don't think I searched for the correct words. Found some discussions about DIY panels and stuff. I would prefer to buy something ready made or Ikea-style assembly.

Reverting to Google I found a few specialist sellers like:
ATS Acoustics
Acoustimac
Ready Acoustics

Any other ideas? Aesthetics for high WAF is important.
I will need about 12 to 15 panels measuring 2x4ft.

Also drawing a blank on the ceiling options. I have a huge 23x21 ft flat ceiling made of sheetrock.

Hi Henry66,
May be AudiMute would have what you are looking for . . . http://www.audimutesoundproofing.com/

We have some identical components : Axiom speakers, OPPO BDP-93 and the Pioneer VSX-1120-K. I'm using the VSX 1120-K as a preamp processor with my Axiom A1400-8 amplifier. Do you power your M80s with your Pioneer ?

I'd like to copy what a local AV store has done. They made their own. The next time I go back there, I'm going to be taking some pictures and asking about the construction. Sizewise, they were about 2 foot wide by 3 foot high, but you could make them any size you want. they stood out from the wall for a couple of inches. There was a smaller frame attaching them to the wall. There were 2 windings of rope lights wound around the inner frame where you couldn't see them without straining. They were on a dimmer switch. The effect was much more pleasant that sconce lighting. They were filled with some sort of sound absorbing material, then covered in a material that matched the wall. Burgundy, or red.

Hi JC,

Thanks for the AudiMute tip, I will check them out. Although ATS Acoustic seems the most economical so far, I am not sure if it will pass the WAF test.

Hey, cool. Yes I am powering my M80s with the Pioneer. Officially the VSX-1120-K is not rated for 4 ohms, but it has never had the slightest problem driving the Axioms very loud. If I one day get a full set of 5.1 or 7.1 speakers then maybe I will add a power amplifier.

Henry,

Not sure what your budget is, but I had excellent results from the addition of my GIK Accoustics treatments.

yep I think GIK would be a good choice, unless you want to make your own, which is even cheaper.

I have GIK Tri-Traps and ATS panels and I would say that the build quality on the ATS panels is superior to GIK. ATS seems to have better prices as well. Just my $0.02.

Thanks everyone. I am going to order a couple of ATS panels to try them out and get a feel for how they look and how to mount them.

Has anyone here done any ceiling acoustic treatments? I think that is my biggest problem.

Yep, I built all my panels myself, using ceiling and wall FRZ's (first reflection zone) panels, and corner bass traps from ceiling to floor.

I just wanted to say I received my panels from both ATS Acoustics and some from GIK Acoustics.

The panels from GIK are more expensive but much better quality. they make them with a "dead zone" in the back not just a wood panel like ATS.You can also order ATS without the wood backing (open backed) but are not available in 2"panels.

Also the GIK's are made with Owens Corning 703 and not with mineral wool like ATS and feel way more absorbent.

I will be sticking with GIK for the rest of my panels, much better product IMO.

I've seen (and heard) Sirquack's theater setup. The panels are nice and the sound he has is really great!

No problem bud, I found I didn't have to turn it up as load also in testings.

The tests were when the "ol lady" came running in....."turn that down" grin
